After Salman, Shah Rukh Khan gets death threat, Mumbai police file extortion case
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has received a death threat along with a demand for Rs 50 lakh, according to Mumbai police. An extortion case has been filed in connection with the incident.
The threat to Shah Rukh Khan comes on the heels of similar threats made against actor Salman Khan, allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The Bandra police station received a call threatening Shah Rukh Khan and demanding the ransom.
A senior police official confirmed that an offense has been registered under sections 308(4) (extortion involving threats of death or serious injury) and 351(3)(4) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code against the unidentified caller. No arrests have been made so far.
Investigating teams have been dispatched to various locations for further inquiries. While there has been no official confirmation from Mumbai police regarding the call’s origin in Raipur, a Raipur police official stated that Mumbai police have issued a notice to one Faiyaz Khan in relation to the threat.
