Egyptian AI startup DXwand raises $4m Series A funding for regional expansion

DXwand is a specialist in LLM, knowledge mining and omnichannel conversational AI. Its innovative AI-driven software automates text and voice conversations between customers and businesses, as well as different citizen-facing government services across various platforms, including call centres, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, SMS, and websites.

DXwand has raised $4 million in a Series A funding round led by Shorooq Partners, with participation from Algebra Ventures and the Dubai Future District Fund. This investment will fuel DXwand’s expansion in the region and accelerate its research and development in large language models (LLMs), knowledge mining, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), solidifying the company’s leadership in generative AI and knowledge mining within the Middle East.

“This investment is a pivotal moment for DXwand, driving our regional growth and deepening our commitment to advancing GenAI and RAG technologies. We’re excited about the opportunities this funding brings for DXwand and the conversational AI landscape,” said Ahmad Mahmoud, CEO of DXwand.

Tamer Azer, partner at Shorooq Partners, emphasized his firm’s belief in the region’s capacity to produce groundbreaking innovations. “Our investment in DXwand aligns with our vision. DXwand empowers businesses to grow smarter and helps governments operate more efficiently by mining institutional knowledge for superior information access. Ahmed and Mahmoud’s vision of AI-driven information access began five years ago, and we’re thrilled to support its ongoing evolution,” Azer said.
