But director Rohit Shetty has now revealed that despite being in the same film, DeepVeer’s characters have had no interaction with each other.
In a recent interview with News 18, director Rohit Shetty shared insights into his creative decisions regarding the characters played by Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in his latest project. He revealed that, while it would have been entertaining to include a light-hearted interaction between Ranveer and Deepika’s characters, he decided against it to avoid any unintended offense.
Rohit explained that Ranveer’s character was crafted as a reflection of Lord Hanuman, a revered deity in Hindu mythology known for his loyalty and devotion. Because of this, incorporating any form of banter with Deepika’s character could have risked misinterpretation or controversy. Instead, he chose to focus on the playful dynamic between Ranveer and Akshay Kumar, as this interaction felt more fitting for the storyline without risking religious or cultural sensitivities.
This deliberate choice reflects Rohit’s commitment to respecting the cultural context surrounding the characters while still delivering the energetic, action-packed experience his films are known for. While audiences missed seeing Ranveer and Deepika share screen space in a fun moment, Shetty’s decision highlights his focus on authenticity and sensitivity in storytelling.
