Symbiotic Security Unveils Groundbreaking Real-Time Detection and Remediation Solution for Software Development with Just-in-Time Training

Symbiotic Security Launches Industry-First Real-Time Security Solution for Software Development, Backed by $3M in Seed Funding

Symbiotic Security has unveiled the first-ever real-time security solution for software development, combining detection, remediation, and just-in-time training. This groundbreaking software-as-a-service integrates directly into developers’ workflows, providing security testing and training within their Integrated Development Environment (IDE) without interrupting the development process. With $3 million in seed funding from investors including Lerer Hippeau, Axeleo Capital, Factorial Capital, and others, Symbiotic Security is set to revolutionize secure software development.

A recent Ponemon survey of 634 IT and IT security professionals highlighted key challenges in adopting “shift-left” security: a lack of integrated security tools (51%), increased workload for developers (43%), and an overwhelming number of vulnerabilities to address (40%). Symbiotic Security directly tackles these issues by seamlessly integrating security into the development process.

“Traditional code security approaches are outdated. We’re addressing this by embedding security directly into the coding process,” said Jerome Robert, co-founder and CEO of Symbiotic Security. “Symbiotic doesn’t require additional training—it is the training. Our goal is to be the developer’s partner in security and to make the shift-left security vision a reality.”

The “shift-left” approach integrates security earlier in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), empowering developers to take responsibility for the security of their code. However, the shift-left initiative has faced challenges, as developers were not equipped with the necessary tools or incentives to effectively secure their software.

Symbiotic’s solution provides developers with real-time feedback on security vulnerabilities as they write code, along with remediation suggestions and targeted training on specific security issues. The platform is already in use at eight companies, all of which are benefiting from the remediation and training features, while offering valuable feedback to improve the product.

With Symbiotic Security, developers can ship clean, secure code and eliminate security backlogs without disrupting their workflows. The platform continuously scans code—both new and written—to detect and resolve potential threats immediately. It also offers contextual remediation within the IDE, enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving security.

“Jerome and co-founder Edouard Viot’s deep understanding of the challenges with traditional code security positions Symbiotic to transform the industry,” said Graham Brown, Managing Partner at Lerer Hippeau. “Their approach to shift-left security solutions empowers both developers and security teams, with the potential to significantly impact the market.”

“Symbiotic Security truly understands developers and makes them more productive,” said Simon Elcham, co-founder and CTO of Trustpair. “By integrating into our workflows, it has helped our development and security teams reduce backlogs and improve code quality. Symbiotic outpaces current market standards in both functionality and business impact.”
